Thanks for this write-up, as well as the previous one with your reflections on NOLA.

A good friend of mine who shares my overconsumption worries once had a chat with a cruise ship staffer about the guilt he felt for being there. She told him she could have never gotten such a good job in her home country, that the cruise industry opens up opportunity for a lot of people, and that he should just forget about it and have fun. Which he did. And, though it was awkward at times (esp. the performing waitstaff), I'm glad he told me to do the same.DogBloggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16188110384649189032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876613.post-46874449609547619432008-04-11T12:12:00.000+01:002008-04-11T12:12:00.000+01:00Thank you so much for joining us on the cruise. Your joy was infectious.

You know, I am of the same peace and social justice attitude as yourself, but for some reason I let it go on the cruise and just ignored the injustices that were happening all around us on the boat. Gives me much to ponder. It is good to rest and re-create but at what cost?God_Guurrlllhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18184002827799859297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876613.post-79669850470783475572008-04-11T10:09:00.000+01:002008-04-11T10:09:00.000+01:00loving these reflections, k. i never wanted to go...loving these reflections, k.

i never wanted to go on a cruise for some of the discomforts you shared and others, but with the revgals, it was so tempting. i'm sorry to have missed it. yes, crowded tube even. even there.more cows than peoplehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15848597902402114593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7876613.post-65990472345630154402008-04-11T04:42:00.000+01:002008-04-11T04:42:00.000+01:00Thank you again for coming--I so enjoyed visiting ...Thank you again for coming--I so enjoyed visiting with you.
