Day 3: Give
One of the lovely things about Coventry Cathedral is the way that its genesis in the aftermath of war inspired so many people and nations to GIVE as the new Cathedral rose beside the ruin of the old. So we have (among many lovely things) a Czech cross, a Norwegian Organ, Swedish windows, a Canadian roof, and...a Palestinian rock that has become our font. It came from beside the main Bethlehem/Hebron road, as a gift from the people of Palestine. A whole series of people arranged it's transport overland to Coventry at no cost to the Cathedral, and now a scallop shaped dip holds the water for baptism. I love the thought that beyond the family and friends who have brought baptism candidates to this day, a whole line of unknown others also contributed to their Christian birthday, through the gift of the font#AdventWord

Since there's been a troll fol de rolling his way about the blog recently, I've had to introduce comment moderation for a while. Hope this doesn't deter genuine responses...
